Artisan Cheese

Artisan Cheese is made by cheesemakers who produce specialty cheeses on a smaller scale, sometimes by hand. Because of the smaller batch quantities of Artisan Cheeses, the cheeses are very fresh, but limited in distribution. theCheeseClub seeks to offer these cheeses to our customers because they are so special and good tasting and are otherwise hard to find out of the local distribution areas.

The artisan cheese makers try to rely on local goat, sheep or cow farms for their milk and other ingredients. That's what we believe makes the flavors stand out and unique from any other styles of cheeses. The special recipies and the fresh ingredients produce fun to try cheeses you may not find anywhere else!

What is Farmstead Cheese?

Farmstead cheese is producing artisan cheese on a farm and using only organic dairy products from that particular farm’s herd of animals.  We have one of the few goat milk farmers making goat yogurt right in our area! Please email us if you would like to get ahold of this specialty goat yogurt!

On Farmstead Farms, the animals eat only organically grown pasture grasses and feed, and are not treated with antibiotics or artificial milk-stimulating hormones.  Their frequent use of sustainable farming techniques, such as crop rotation and composting, do much more than conserve water and encourage biodiversity of wildlife, they build and maintain healthy, rich soil that can be used again and again.

We have done our research, and believe that when we include an Artisan or Farmstead cheese in the club, you are receiving a true craftsman cheese that you may not have been able to sample otherwise - and would miss out on some of the best specialty cheeses available today!
