Artisan Cheeses are made in small quantities, sometimes by hand, and usually with local ingredients, thereby ensuring the freshest, most delicious product possible.

Farmstead cheese is producing artisan cheese on a farm and using only organic dairy products from that particular farm’s herd of animals.  On these farms, the animals eat only organically grown pasture grasses and feed, and are not treated with antibiotics or artificial milk-stimulating hormones.  Their frequent use of sustainable farming techniques, such as crop rotation and composting, do much more than conserve water and encourage biodiversity of wildlife, they build and maintain healthy, rich soil that can be used again and again.

We have done our research, and believe that when we include a cheese from an artisan, you are receiving a true craftsman cheese that you may quite possibly not be able to sample otherwise as these are often times not widely distributed or available.
